Echogenic Catheter-Over-Needle System

Developed together with Dr. Ban Tsui, the E-Cath / E-Cath Plus combines the best from clinical experience and engineering expertise, resulting in a system that addresses the biggest catheter problems in CNBs: complexity, catheter kinking, anaesthetic leakage and catheter dislocation and migration.1,2,3,4

The results are easier, faster, safer, and more reliable continuous nerve blocks with a reduction of workload during postoperative pain management.

E-Cath/E-Cath Plus Features & Advantages

1. Catheter-Over-Needle Technique

  • Significantly reduces the chance of anaesthetic leakage and catheter dislocation or migration1,2,4

2. Soft Tip

  • This means an increase in comfort and safety for the user and patient
  • Unique 360 degree side port along with 3 lateral openings

3. Safe Flow

  • The double layer catheter technology solves the kinking problem and guarantees a consistent anaesthetic flow
  • This is additionally supported by the open tip & 360 degree side port

4. Integrated Injection Tube

  • Reduction of procedural steps: catheter adapter is pre-assembled to the catheter system
  • Connection of a Clamping Adapter is not necessary

5. Self Priming System

  • A proximal opening at the E-Catheter allows the anaesthetic to flow besides the open tip and also between the outer wall and the indwelling catheter
  • Ensures a 360 degree flow and improves the U/S-visibility of the E-Catheter
  • Also available for the use with SonoPlex needle and indwelling needle

6. E-Cath Plus

  • Longer E-Catheter tip protrudes 15mm past the indwelling catheter
  • Easy placement past the nerve
  • Compensates for minor tissue movement
  • Reducing chance of catheter migration

7. Steel Stylet (E-Cath plus only)

  • On 25mm length at proximal end
  • Easy threading and additional stability to the soft inner catheter
  • Allows the tip to remain flexible and atraumatic
  • No additional procedural steps
